Batgirl was teased for Batman: Arkham Origins at the San Diego Comic Con panel for the game, but now according to an interview that WB Games Montreal's Eric Holmes conducted with IGN, the character may not appear after all. 

Holmes now maintains that, although they are not ruling anything out in terms of having characters partner up with Batman, Batgirl herself won't be in the game, at least not in the form that players might be expecting. This comes contrary to Holme's little wink wink, nudge nudge comment about the character earlier in the morning at the Arkham Origins panel.

So will Batgirl be in Batman: Arkham Origins? Although Holmes is now officially going with 'no,' there's really no telling. Just like Rocksteady, WB Games Montreal seems to enjoy keeping everything close to their chest. We'll find out this October, so stay tuned.
