My partner, Professor Irrena Alfinder, is an archeologist who went to Trapper's Rest to recover Ethian artifacts. Kobolds, however, have overrun the area. I don't dare enter her camp, but perhaps there are clues there that might tell us where she is.
These feathers you found look like those of the harpies from Stalwart Rise. I only hope that's where she was when the kobolds showed up; otherwise, I don't like her chances.

Back when the world was new and great beasts of the planes made their home on Telara, I hunted the boar known as Calydon. I tracked it down only to be slain by the creature, and now my bones have lain in Shatterbone Gorge for millennia. I care not for my rotted remains, but if you could bring me back my spear, perhaps I would find some peace after all these years.

The symbol on this signet matches the one on Karnac's journal. My father, then, was his brother, and uncle to Duke Zarbog. No wonder he was so angry when I wore the ring - Zarbog's assassins would've recognized that symbol.

It appears that Maffle is using his newfound intelligence to form an army of boglings for Greenscale. We can't let that happen. Here, I fused together those Faetouched Splinters into a charm. It should draw him out of hiding.
You killed Maffle? Well, I'm a little sad. He was a great research subject, but it would have been catastrophic to let the boglings organize under one leader. Well, I've learned my lesson! I'll never artificially enhance a bogling's intelligence again.
Could you not find Maffle? I would check out the abandoned house in the center of the Sunken Marsh.
