How do you make a portal in mine craft

Gather 14 pieces of obsidian.

Form it into a rectangle. You want the horizontal sides ( the side going along the top and bottom) to be 4 blocks wide, and you want the vertical sides (The ones going up) to be 5 high. Then, you light one of the blocks witha  flint and tinder and it makes the portal.

PS: You can also do this with 10 pieces, you just need to leave out the corners of the rectangle
