No it will not.  3DS games have to specifically be programmed to take advantage of the 3D capabilities.  The system needs to be told, for example, how far back an object is in the 3d field.  There's no easy way to determine this from a flat 2d image, so there's no "trick" devs can use to fake the effect in a convincing manner.

Actually, that information is already in there. It's called the Z-Buffer and its purpose is to record how far objects are from the screen. Monoscopic 3D games can be made stereoscopic at the driver level and NVIDIA has been doing this on PCs for years. So Nintendo could do it, but they won't.

No because 3DS games are built with the 3d feature from the ground up. Some 3DS games don't even have 3d. It's all a developer decision on whether or not he want's to impliment the technology.

Hell no.

Otherwise what is the point of having a 3DS in the first place.

No, 3DS games are the only games that support the 3D effect on the 3DS. Normal DS games will appear as they normally would in a Nintendo DS.

I wish, that'd be awesome, unfortunately they make all 3ds games to show two images at once which is how it becomes 3d, and since we don't have that feature in the original games, they can't suddenly change the output of their games designed for a 2d screen

I'm afraid not, the 3D effect is built into the graphics of the game's themselves, so fr the 3D effect you need a 3D game. You can however play 3D games in 2D :D
