Broken heart – rejects or ends romance
Checkmark – accepts the offer
Clenched fist – aggressive response
Crossed swords – initiates combat
Diamond – Charming response
Gavel/hammer – direct, blunt response
Halo over wings – helpful/kind
Head silhouette – calls on companion to allow them to respond
Heart – flirty response
Laughing facemask – Joker, humorous response
Olive Branch/leafy branch – Diplomatic response
X – Rejects the offer

Rarer Icons:
Falling Coins – Bribe, pay, or extort response.
Fingers crossed – Lie
Questionmark – Investigate, ask questions to learn more about something
Star Unique choice with unusual or special outcome

From the manuel:

The Wings and Halo mean that Hawke will be "helpful or particularly nice"

The stem with leaves on it mean that Hawke will "take an agreeable, tactful position"

The Mask means that Hawke will be "wry, humorous, or witty"

The diamond means that Hawke will "act charmingly"

The fist means that Hawke will "Speak or act aggressively"

The gavel and block means that Hawke will "speak directly or rudely"

The crossed swords mean that Hawke will "initiate a fight, or strike / kill someone in conversation"

Blue Halo/Wings - friendly, helpful answer.

Green Leaf - agreeable, tactful answer.

Purple Mask - humorous, witty answer.

Gem - Charming answer.

Red Fist - agressive action/answer.

Hammer/Gavel - direct or rude answer.

Two Swords - Initiate a fight or strike/kill someone in response.

Floating Head - A companion will answer instead of Hawke.

Heart - Flirt or pursue romantic interest.

Broken Heart - Opposite of above.

Check Mark - Agree or Consent.

Red X - Disagree or Refuse.

Three Swirling Arrows - Choosing one of multiple exclusive options.

Star With Arrows - Making a special choice that is only available because of previous choices.

Coins Falling - Extort Money or Give Money.

Crossed Fingers - Hawk will attempt to Lie.

Question Mark - Indicates a question that can lead to other conversation options in the future, or just increase your knowledge of the lore/backstory.
