Borderlands 2 Sales Outpacing Expectations, Gearbox Still Wants Vita Port

Borderlands 2 is on track to sell "in line to slightly ahead of expectations" Robert W. Baird & Co. analyst Colin Sebastian says. Since the game's launch on Tuesday, September 18th in the US, the game has moved significant product and garnered serious interest in the brand moving forward.

Original shipment expectations pegged the game at 3 million sales. Sebastian says that the shooter could easily "exceed" these numbers.

Meanwhile, Gearbox remains interested in a Vita port of the game. Gearbox president Randy Pitchford earlier told gamers to "pester Sony" for a Vita release, as the company is currently too busy supporting Borderlands 2 with post-launch DLC and developing the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines and Furious 4. A Vita version of the game would certainly be nice; after all, who wouldn't want to take their loot lust on the road? And the integration possibilities with the PS3 version of the game are quite tantalizing, indeed.
