SDCC 2012: Blizzard Product Showcase

Blizzard made an absolutely absurd number of new product announcements at this year's Comic Con, so instead of trying to go into depth about each, something that Blizzard themselves didn't even do much of, we'll just list all of the relevant announcements and release dates below.

  • World of Warcraft MegaBlocks will release in mid-August, with the Goblin Zeppelin, Lich King, Deathwing, and Hoard Demolisher sets headlining the release. Faction leaders and mounts will also feature heavily into the set.
  • A Jade Panderian figure will be given away at Mists of Panderia launch events.
  • A Mists of Panderia novel entitled Tides of War will bridge the gap between current WoW lore and the Mists of Pandaria expansion. The novel will release on August 28th, and will include a storyline that will actually be playable in the game.
  • Starcraft 2 will also be receiving a novel, entitled Flashpoint. This will bridge the story gaps between Wings of Liberty and the upcoming Heart of the Swarm. The novel will release on November 6th.
  • Pearl of Pandaria will be a comic from DC Comics that will introduce key characters and concepts from Mists of Panderia. It will release on September 5th.
  • Warcraft Risk will be coming in September with over 330 customizeable pieces.
  • A Battle of the Aspects raid deck will release on August 7th for the WoW trading card game. A feast of Winter's Veil collector's set will follow in November.
  • Mists of Pandaria panda hoodies and new t-shirts will be available in the Blizzard store come August.
  • New iPhone cases themed around Mists of Pandaria will be coming to the Blizzard store soon.
  • Blizzard will release an 11-button rechargeable, wireless gaming mouse soon.
  • New calendars and posters will be coming in August.
  • An Art of Blizzard book is coming only a few years late, in Winter 2012.
  • An Arthas premium format statue is now available for pre-order.
  • A Diablo premium format statue is coming soon.
  • A 1:6 scale figure of Tychus is coming in 2013. It comes complete with LED lights and full articulation.
  • A Deathwing premium format statue is coming in 2013 as well.
  • Blizzard is "putting a lot of thought" into expanding the WoW mythos into children's books, comics, and more.

EDIT: As user Max Ximenez pointed out, I made a typo when discussing Blizzard's Risk collaboration. It's Starcraft, not Warcraft.

This article is incorrect- Blizzard is not publishing a WarCraft Risk, but a StarCraft Risk.
