The fifth installment of the popular video game series Assassin's Creed,  which is scheduled to be released on October 30, 2012, is already breaking Ubisoft's preorder records, publisher announced Wednesday. After being available for pre-order for only 3 weeks, it has already surpassed the amount of pre-orders for Ubisoft's previous Assassin's Creed game titles in the same time period. If this trend continues, the game is set to become Ubsoft's most pre-ordered game in history. 

Tony Key, senior Vice President of sales and marketing for Ubisoft, announced that this game's launch will be the "largest in Ubisoft's history". Ubisoft intends for this game to be the top selling Assassin's Creed title ever, and has dedicated to it the biggest marketing efforts they've ever made.

This installment of the game features a new setting, taking place in the American Revolution. According to Tony Key, this setting is a perfect starting point for anyone who has never played the previous games in the series before.
