20 Minutes Of Dead Space 3 Gameplay

Perhaps hearing the complaints coming out of E3 that the gameplay shown off at EA's press conference didn't exactly look tense or scary, the publishing giant today released a massive 20-minute clip of Dead Space 3 hoping to sell naysayers on the new co-op focus. You can check it out below for yourself, but we'll tell you right now that things aren't looking much scarier for Isaac Clarke. The third Dead Space still seems to be largely an action game, even forgoing series staples such as being able to rotate the shot direction of your Plasma Cutter in favor of more streamlined, action-focused gameplay.

If you haven't been scared off by all this talk of the game losing its horror focus (now that would be ironic) the video shows that Dead Space 3 at least still has its looks, as everything from environments to character models is looking gorgeous. Will that be enough when the game releases in early 2013? And will the newfound emphasis on co-op play ruin the delicate balance between horror and action that Visceral kept so well with the first two entries? Find out when we write up an official review at the game's release next February.

Just be sure not to get "pulped" by that GIANT FREAKING DRILL. That's technical terminology, people.
