Where Is Our Battlefield 4 Next-Gen Review?

As you all know, EA's Battlefield 4 launched alongside the PS4 this past Friday. Despite being one of the first games we received for the console, Battlefield 4 has proven to be the last game we were able to get up and successfully play. A vast array of issues have kept many fans, us included, from completing the campaign, progressing significantly in multiplayer, or playing Conquest mode online.

Starting Battlefield 4 when conected to PSN has lead to many users being booted from the game thanks to an error code. A known workaround has emerged for this - simply sign out of PSN, start the game, and then re-sign in.

Other issues will persist apart from the error code, though. The single-player campaign has been known to crash and even erase save data, forcing users to start from the very beginning. A similar online issue has been erasing the leveling progress of some players, while another online bug keeps players from joining any games of Conquest. Crashes have been known to happen to online players as well. Quite frankly, it's a mess out there, folks.

These issues mostly stem from problems with Battlefield 4 syncing up with the new 1.50 PS4 firmware.

At present, EA has not acknowledged the issues. We expect them to issue a statement tomorrow, since Battlefield 4 launched on the cusp of a weekend, so stay tuned. Until then, if you want our official reccomendation on Battlefield 4, it's this - don't waste your money here. The issues are likely to be fixed soon, but as of now the game's a complete mess.

For what it's worth, we've had nothing but smooth experiences with the rest of the PS4 launch lineup, and more reviews will soon join Knack's.
