Gearbox's Randy Pitchford revealed today, the second day of San Diego's infamous Comic Con, that there will, for certain, be more DLC coming for the shoot and loot hit Borderlands 2.
Pitchford replied to a tweet from Borderlands 2 fan and Giantbomb mod Mr_Raccoon asking if there would be anything coming for Borderlands 2 at this year's Comic Con. The brisk dialogue is as follows:
mr_raccoon: "@DuvalMagic can we expect any announcements about new Borderlands 2 DLC tomorrow?"
DuvalMagic: "@mr-raccoon: Saturday, yes."
Wow. Concise.
The latest DLC for the game, 'Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep,' proved to be a huge success. Discover all of that DLC's new weapons and effects here if you haven't already, and then come back on Saturday for more Borderlands 2 DLC goodness here in San Diego.
The reveal that there will, in fact, be more DLC coming for Borderlands 2 following the release of 'Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep' is not a shock. Pitchford announced as much earlier in the month, stating that "everyone has this expectation that there would be four DLCs and then that's it. We're going to do more. We're going to do some other things."
It is, however, surprising that they'd choose the San Diego Comic Con as the venue for such an announcement, as they don't have a dedicated panel lined up here like they did at March's PAX East. When and how will Gearbox announce the next DLC, and what form will it take? Stay tuned for the answers.
