Rumors have been circulating on the net for quite some time now about a Sony-themed version of Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. that would pit famous Sony mascots like Kratos and Sweet Tooth against each other in combat, but nothing official had been announced. With the rumors becoming more and more concrete, though, it seemed inevitable that the project was real, and was really going to come out sooner rather than later. This morning, Sony finally made the announcement, and released a trailer on YouTube to celebrate the fact.
The list of characters unveiled so far include PaRappa, Fat Princess, Sweet Tooth, a Helghast soldier, Kratos, and Sly Cooper. This diversity is also reflected in the levels, which will showcase a mash-up of two different Playstation worlds. The example given in the video is the Patapon army invading Hades, which provides the backdrop for one of Kratos' levels. Okay, after typing that sentence, I am officially sold.
Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments. Is this brawler too much like Super Smash Bros., or do you think that the game benefits from its similarities?
