Risen 2: Dark Waters Launch Trailer Releases The Kraken

It's been too long since we've seen a good pirate game. Developer Piranha Bytes (veterans of the Gothic series, before it changed hands with Gothic 4) and publisher Deep Silver (of Two Worlds fame) hope to change that with their upcoming pirate-themed RPG, Risen 2: Dark Waters. The ambitious-looking title will release on Steam tomorrow, and can be pre-loaded by excited adventurers right now. In celebration of the title's completion, a new trailer has been released showing off a few tidbits from the story and, most importantly, the game's massive Kraken enemy. For alas, what is a pirate game without a Kraken?
It seems as if the game will cast you in the role of pirate peace-maker, travelling around the numerous islands of the game's world and trying to bring the pirates together to develop a weapon to use against the Kraken. Think of it as Mass Effect 3, but with pirates instead of aliens. Actually, that sounds pretty awesome. I'll be right back. I have to go pre-load this game now.
