Star Trek Teaser Trailer Loves Its Slo-Mo

Publisher Namco Bandai and developer Digital Extremes have been working on a Star Trek game to tie into JJ Abrams' upcoming film for a few years now. They showed off tiny bits and pieces at E3 last year, but not enough to get a real sense of how the game is progressing or how we could expect it to play. General impressions from the time were mostly positive, but with so little shown off it was hard to tell. Everything has been pretty silent since then. But now, with another E3 looming just a few months over the horizon, Namco Bandai has begun to ramp up the promotional efforts again.

The first of their promos is, again, sadly insubstantial. The teaser trailer, embedded below, shows off a few of the action beats, such as a neat-looking setpiece in which players will be navigating in space, but little else. Digital Extremes promises that this won't be purely a shooter, as Star Trek has never exclusively been about the action. With this teaser trailer released and nothing having been said on the game for so long, it's no stretch to imagine a big blowout coming from E3 this year. Stay tuned to GameShampoo to hear the latest Star Trek news as it develops, E3 or not.
