Gather 14 pieces of obsidian.

Form it into a rectangle. You want the horizontal sides ( the side going along the top and bottom) to be 4 blocks wide, and you want the vertical sides (The ones going up) to be 5 high. Then, you light one of the blocks witha flint and tinder and it makes the portal.

PS: You can also do this with 10 pieces, you just need to leave out the corners of the rectangle

Yes, on your Mac you can get it from an app section. Might be in the 'games' section on google+. Also, you can use 'screen splitr' if you jailbreak your iPod/iPhone, but that just lets you see what your doing on your iPod/iPhone/iPad.

there's no glitch in your journal. its supposed to show you only two of the symbols. The rest you have to figure out yourself by standing near the relective tiles that are on the sides of the room.
