Where did all these stone creatures come from? They weren't here the last time I guided a caravan into Fortune's Shore. It must be the work of the Golden Maw, the ones who attacked this caravan and massacred most of its people. I swear they riled up the desert itself against us. I'm still finding grains of sand in my teeth. Do me a favor and kill some of those blasted Stonelings.
It's endless work. As long as the Golden Maw and their minions continue to drum out rituals to their earth dragon god, the orelings will just rise again out of the dust and stones. Every bit helps though. Maybe soon the day will come when I don't need to carry spare axles for the trip across Tempest Plains. Until then I'll rely on a stout hammer.
Look at 'em, scrabbling over the stones. Since the Golden Maw began operating in Shimmersand, it seems the desert has grown a mind of its own. You'd be doing me a favor if you killed the stone creatures that plague this road.
