Nintendo Team
Select "Exhibition Mode" and start a "1P vs 2P" game. On the Team Select screen, hold Start then press B on Controller 2. Player 2 will become Team Nintendo. Start the game to set Player 1's team against Team Nintendo.

Same Team
For this to work, you must first use the "Nintendo Team" Code. Before Player 1 chooses his or her team, position Player 1's select box on top of player 2's select box and press Y on Controller 2. This will match Player 1 against Player 2 with the same team.
