Reset high scores Press A + B + L + R on the title screen. Expert mode Defeat Bowser in World 8-4, and the princess will appear and ask you to try a more difficult challenge. Begin the game again to play with several differences. All the Goombas have been replaced by black Koopas, the regular Koopas move much faster, and most of the fireball trails are longer. Classic Mario music Wait for approximately two minutes in the Special Zone to hear the classic Mario theme from the NES.

Go to World 8
Go to level 3 in world 1 and near the end of the level is a white block press down until you get on the ground again. Keep going forward. You probably think you're clearing the course, but you actually meet toad. Grab the whistle. Go to the mini-fortress. If you have a leaf, at the end of the first stage, don't go to the door, instead fly to the roof and go to your right and press up. You find yourself in a special room. Run towards the chest that has a whistle. Complete World 1 but don't complete World 2. Instead at the beginning of World 2, use the whistle to teleport you into the warp zone. Go to World 7. At the beginning of the world, use the other whistle to teleport you back to the warp zone. Go to the pipe that says 8 and ta-da...You are now at world 8!

Restart level Pause the game and press L + R + Select. Hint: Slot machine bonus Try to get Cherry, 7, 7 on the slot machine at the end of each level. A bonus life will be awarded from starting with the cherry, and three more coins will also be added to the total. Hint: Fast ending On level 4-1, get the princess. Go up the vine, but go left, run, and fly to a secret door. Go through the door and use the bombs to blow up the wall. Then, jump over the top of the screen and run left.
