| Although it is more than possible that, given time, you will earn enough Prestige Points to be able to purchase the bigger and better starships in the game, one way for guaranteeing that you have the best right from the off is to cheat. Unlike most games though, Starfleet Command Volume II doesn't have any direct key input cheats built in. But if you alter a couple of things in the directory files you'll be able to start with either top ships, or the Prestige to buy them. Remember, before you change any of the files in the game, do back them up first - if you do something wrong you can always revert to the orginals.<P>Cheat Method
Use a worksheet editor such as MS Excel to open the file "C:
amedirassetsspecshiplist.txt". Modify the settings as you like and save the file Starting Prestige
Open the file METAASSETSSERVERPROFILESSINGLEPLAYERCHARACTER with a text editor.
Look for the line:
StartingPrestige=50 and increase the number as much as you like. |
