When you see the screen that tells you that the next match is the championship match, press Select, Up, Up, Right, Right, Left, Left, II, I. Now you can continue the championship match if you lose.

To re-enter the ring after being thrown out, press I, Up, Down, Left, Right, II, Up, Down, Left, Right, II, Up, Down, Left, Right, II.
