As with any rush the key is to know what your enemy is doing.  This means you need to scout early and get a feel for what he is building.  If it looks like he is void rushing then you need to prepare accordingly.

For terrans an easy counter to voids is marines.  You have to make sure the entrace to you base is blocked off to avoid you marine getting torn apart by zealots though.  Make sure you do not let the voids charge up on one of your buildings though.  Just scout early and be observent.

Zerg can be trickier.  A roach rush is a great counter but again you need to know early and have some hydras to count the voids.  Also full muta build will eat the voids up.

There is never a good a vs b strat.  You always need to know what your enemy is doing and adjust accordingly to win.

First of all, scouting is really important. If the toss is going early double gas (you'll usually find this out with your scouting worker), then you expect a fast tech build into double stargate. Keep an eye out on his army.  Keep an eye out for hidden stargates as well.

If you're suspecting a stargate heavy build by the protoss, your response of course depends on the race you're playing. Marines work quite well for Terran. Protoss would have to use stalkers if you haven't gotten any stargates yourself. If you're zerg, extra queens will usually be able to fend off void ray rushes. 1 Spore crawler at each expansion to defend your drones from any phoenix play is a nice thing to do as well against double stargate. Hydralisks will typically seal the deal for Zerg vs double stargate build though so that's always your next option after you defend/slow down the void ray rush.
