The whole game takes up about 11.5 GB for me.

I would guess a saved game about 100mb on Steam Cloud but not on your PC.

Valve games like Portal 2 use an online storage service called SteamCloud to hold all of your save files, so your Portal 2 save files don't take up any space on your computer.

As mentioned by the other posters, the game sends save data to Steam Cloud. Although I'm not 100% if it doesn't keep a backup on your PC.

once your save games go over 100 mb, it will be saved on your hard drive because steam cloud can only store 100 mb of games saves per game.  As long as you don't save too much, you save game files won't go on over 100 mb and won't be saved on your hard drive

To be honest, the saved games won't even come close to 100mb. Considering you don't go crazy saving at every point. It stores part of saves on your drive aswell as in the cloud. Just like what Dropbox does. Don't worry too much about the space. It's not gonna be too much.

Shouldn't be to much compared to how much the game itself weight's and since its stored on steam cloud, theres no reason to worry about it in the first place.

A saved game for Portal 2 on the PC shouldn't be too big, maybe a few MB. It gets saved onto Steam Cloud however, which stores up to 100 MB per game.

it takes about 12Gb on your PC. As some people say, it DOES NOT keep game on Steam Cloud. Cloud is for your game settings and saves

Steam Cloud allows 100mb of save space which is alot. If you exceed that, which you won't, then it will be saved on your HDD.

It takes roughly 11.4 gigs for me. It might be different for steam/mac users however.
