The maximum inventory size in Dragon Age 2 is 100.

You start off with 50, and are able to purchase 5 backpacks total for 50 more.

Here are their locations:

Act 1

Lowtown, Apparel Shop

Hightown, Robes by Jean Luc

Act 2

Gallows, Mage Goods

Hightown, Robes by Jean Luc

Act 3

I don't really know but I think the maximum backpack size would be about 120-125 slots.
