portal 2 mouse doesnt work

trying to play portal 2 but my mouse does not work what do i do

Most likely you need to verify cache files. To do this, right click portal 2 on steam, and click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"

After verifying game files you might want to check in game settings. Maybe mouse sensitivity is set too low or a joystick/gamepad is overriding your controls (in that case unplug any joysticks/gampedas you might have).

Remove controller if any.

Then make sure your mouse has its driver installed.

And also verify the integrity of your files.

check your mouse settings, your sensitivity may to too low or you may have selected inverse mouse, also verify the integreity of your game cache

Make sure that there's no pad plugged in , and in options you've choosen mouse , not game-pad. I don't know if veryfing game files will help.
