is bedrock a good place to look for diamond?

anywhere below 20 can be diamond, usually ill mine at lvl 12 so the lava should nearly always be the layer below my feet and wont pour out on me, just keep an eye on the ground so you dont run into it while looking at something else

 

i wouldnt mine right at the bedrock since mining it out there can be a pain, also the bedrock blocks will over write any ores in those levels so you may find less
