This game is tricky for money making since there is no good way to grind it due to mobs not respawning. So, here are a few tips to get money at an increased rate:

1) As painful as it sounds, use the oppertunity to raise 50 sovereigns in the begining of the game to raise much more than that. Just keep doing quests, even after you have the alotted amount. I raised about 80 sovereigns (which is a huge amount in that game) in a matter of hours due to all the small quests you're given. I stopped and actually proceeded with the story at this point, but there were still quests to be done. Also note that you'll get your 50 sovereign investment back in the end so this is more than worth it.

2) Inventory management! I cannot tell you how many times I ran out of space. Pick up everything you find, and sell it all before major quests / missions. Upgrading your backpack will help this immensely also.

3) Hold off on buying gear that falls under the 'slightly upgrade' category.

There is also one other way, but it's really cheating. If you drop an expensive item in your trash pile, and then go to a shop > sell > trash then highlight the item, and press the "Sell all trash" button and the "sell" button at hte same time. It requires some practice, but if done properly you'll sell the item twice. Then just go into the Buy > buyback menu and buy the item back. You with free money. Rinse and repeat.
