How to link items in chat in Rift MMO

in the Rift game by trion, do you know how I can link an item in the chat?

Shift Left Click on the item

Linking items in chat links the item in a fashion that lets other players click on it to see and compare the stats of that item.

In order to link items in chat, you hold down shift, and then left click the item.

When you are typing in a chat channel, hold shift and leftclick on an item.

The item name would be linked into the chat.

I couldn't figure out how to do this either when I played the beta. To do it, just hold shift and left click on the item to link it to chat.
