apparently they are making an hd wii internally known as 'project cafe'

 

“The console will include a custom IBM PowerPC CPU with three cores, a GPU from the ATI R700 family with a shader unit at version 4.1, and at least 512Mb of RAM.”

‘Project Café’ will also include backwards compatibility with both the Wii (including all peripherals) and GameCube games.”

yse, of course the Big N is planning the next console! deatils are sketchy though, because alot of stuff is still rumours. For the best info, i recommend following what IGN has to say.

Technology is forever evolving. So it is no surprise that a new console is in the works.

And I believe Sony and MS are doing the same too.

Yes. Rumored information has been slowly leaking out, and you can find that IGN ( http://gear.ign.com/articles/116/1163325p1.html ).

So far all we know for sure is that it's codenamed Project Cafe.
