how to make portal's to the nether mincraft

To make a nether portal, you will need 10 obsidian blocks.

Once you get the obsidian blocks, create a 4x5 rectangle, standing upwards. (Build upwards)

(Note that the rectangle should simply be an outline, not filled in.)

Then, when you have a rectangle made of the obsidian blocks, take flint & steal and right click somewhere on the inside of the rectangle. This should make the portal appear in the center.
