Between the bedrock and 10 or 15 rows above it .Drain away some lava here and there and you may come across some that way. Other than that, just use efficient mining and hope for the best.

Inside cave systems. You'll rarely find diamonds that aren't really part of anything.

Just follow cave systems down deep. They're usually around lava, as well. Just be patient, explore the caves, and you will finds some!

They are very rare though, so use them wisely.

lol dont listen to this guy. going to between bedrock and layer 16 just randomly digging tunnel are the best way to find diamonds. going through cave systems, you'll have a much smaller chance of finding diamonds. also, make sure when you find diamonds, mine all the blocks around them first so you can watch out for lava.

If you wish to find the rarity of Diamond in Minecraft i have found that if you dig 16 layers from the bottom of the bedrock up you will have the most chance of finding Diamond

Diamonds can be found within the 16 layers directly above the first layer of Bedrock generated in your world, although they are very rare and hard to find.

Usually diamonds can be found around lava pools in caves. Just be careful!

Statistically, the best place to search for diamonds is in a 2x1 "grid" pattern at the 10-15 depth level. You can check your depth level by pressing F3 and looking the "y-coord" stat.

Dig down to the bedrock, but newer straight in one block - there might be some lava, and than 10-20 blocks up.

The higher level you are, meaning your level ranking (not elevatiom), the more often diamonds will spawn around you. So, Rank up in levels and then go searching for diamonds. But make sure not to die and lose your levels.

That's not how it works you clown. When people ask questions they want real answers from people that know what's going on, they don't want dumb asses making stuff up in their own tiny little heads. Not including the original home chunks, the world is populated as you move onward to increase the size of it, the blocks that spawn are based on a random generator attributed to the rarity of each block and the seed value. It has nothing at all to do with your level, especially since level is only there to spend on enchanting... you dumbass.
Actually it does have a lot to do with XP the more you have the more you find ores. Proof- When I was level 36 I found 3 diamonds and 4 emeralds, I died and now I'm level nine and have only found 4 gold tons of iron and no diamonds LOL NOOB!
