The default place to get food is upstairs in the romm furthest to the right. To get upstairs, you click on the Go Up A Floor I con on the left and then tell your monarch to go to the room on the right. There is a couldren in the fireplace. Click on that and tell him to make food. If your sim doesnt have any food in his inventory, the food that you can always rely on is Gruel. Tell him to make that food and eat it. You can get other types of food from the Village Shoppe.

If, for whatever reason, you cant get upstairs, buy a spitroast for the lower floor in the Furnish Mode, under Domestic. The meal that'll always be available is Roast Rat.

Hope this helps :D
