Neither, but if you want the good end of the case, pick Eli.

then if you say its not hugo and not eli then who is it and why send an innocent person to jail for crime he didnt commit?
the evidence all points at Hugo being the murderer, so it's PROBABLY him, there's not really a solid answer, but you get the 'good' ending for convicting Eli as he's also a pedophile, and therefore it's more popular with the general public
It was definitely Eli. I don't understand why people find that case so difficult. It even showed him committing the murder in the intro to the case.
