what does the message in case notes mean "Another visit to Ray's and you would have seen what Leroy was prepared to do to avoid jail"

even though I finished the case with a five star rating?

It will be because you found the knife in the alley first time.  If you don't, after visiting the doctor at the morgue you will have to go back to Ray's to find the knife and Leeroy should be there.  Make sure you go after the hit and run driver before you go back to Ray's or you will then get a message about letting the driver get away with it.

And then after I did this, I got a message saying something along the lines of if I'd found the evidence faster I could have got Leroy and Lorna.  So I don't think there is a way to finish this without a complaint message.  If anyone figgures it out it would be good to know.
