If you choose to send the biotics to the frontlines, then you earn 75 war asset points; if you place them in the support role you get 50 war asset points. However, Kahlee Sanders is worth (at the maximum) 30 war asset points and if Jack survived the Suicide Mission she is worth 25, so even if you put them in a support role, you will still get a few EMS points.

Also, in the Extended Cut ending, the choice you made reflects on the outcome of the biotic company. If you chose the support role position, then Jack will be seen in the end with all of her students. If you chose to send them to the frontlines, Jack and a few others will be seen mourning, an indication that they suffered heavy losses. It's all a case of morality, and what type of Shepard yours is.
