how scary is dead space 2?

Dead Space 2 is scary in the sense of startling things pop-ing out, or abrupt noises, and disturbing images. It is much faster paced than Dead Space 1.

This leaves you with more of an adrenaline fueled feeling rather than a truely scared feeling. It feels more like action than suspenseful.

It's decently disturbing, but if you can handle Ravenholme from HL2 you can handle Dead Space 2.

It wasn't too scary, but I would not recommend playing it for 8+ hours at night in a dark room, not only will you have really fun dreams, getting to your bed will be a fun trip

the fact that it's on rails takes away a lot of the suspense.

It isnt a super scary game but i mean things will still pop out at you line in Dead Space 1. But this has a more action pace so, adjust your views accordingly.

Its uber scary because of the monsters popping out everywhere from random places and the random noises.
