kingdoms of amalur graveside letters in gorhart?

You need those letters.  The lady that's seen there at the graveyard will not kick off a quest for you until you have both letters (found in the same graveyard) in your inventory and have read them.  There's a third letter you can get somewhere else on the ground...I think off a dead body near town.  However, I don't know that you need that third one in order for the quest to be offered.

I don't think this is true.  The woman at the graveyard is not Rikka.  Rikka, the woman mentioned in the letters that you find in the graveyard, is the shopkeeper in the building with the forge.  I think these just may be lore items, just to give some background in the story.
Exactly.  Those letters are tied to Rikka, not Gizela (the girl in the graveyard).  Gizela will ask you to go look for her missing husband that went to war, but not until you pick up a death notice on a dead body outside of town.  I am still trying to figure out what the letters concerning Rikka are for, but I'm sure there's something.  I stole Rikka's journal, too, but nothing has come of it yet.
