Whenever you engage in a shiny battle, the pokemon will be different colored then usual. PLEASE note that sometimes different colors can be because of different genders.

The best way to identify a shiny is whenever when the battle starts, the shiny will be have a circle of sparkles appear on it and then dissapear.
