Ask YOUR question:

Dragon Age Origins to Dragon Age 2 Save File import effects

+9 votes
What kind of impact do your choices from Origins have on Dragon Age 2? Like, say, completing the DLC Witchhunt or sacrificing a party member for X cause?

Save for a few dialogue choices/cameos, I have yet to see any REAL effect. I played two characters in Origins, one a Mage "Hero." This character was a wholesome, save everyone, do whats right mage. In Dragon age 2 they refer to the warden, and refer to the fact that he was a mage, and you may hear of something or other I did, but save for one quest toward the end of DA2, nothing really had much difference.

I am currently playing a second playthrough of DA2 using the save file of my A-Hole warrior from Origins. Im most of the way through Act 2 of DA2 and have yet to see much difference.

It's pointless, really. Only your decision in DA1 gets carried over.

Your decisions carry over and you'll be offered quests relating to those decision. You'll also run into a few old party members depending on the choices you made. Keep in mind that the Dragon Age 2 save that houses all your decisions will also be used to import into Dragon Age 3 when it's released. I have a feeling that this is going to be where you see the real effects of your choices.
