It depends on how you want to host the server.

 

You can host the server on your own computer, which would be free. The problem with that comes that you are much more likely to have connection issues and lag, especially as the map grows in size.

There are server hosts out there, such as Redstone Host as just one off of the top of my head, with varying prices depending on how much you're willing to pay, data limits, etc.

 

I have only ever hosted locally, so I cannot go much deeper into it than that. Hopefully that will help at least some.
