[SPOILERS] Portal 2 plot question

PORTAL 2 SPOILERS AHEAD

 

I have seen a few videos of Portal 2 on YouTube and they seem to show GLaDOS as a potato for some of the story but my question is this; why do the disintegration fields between chambers destroy her? Surely she is not part of the "test protocol" as we are told earlier in both Portal games?

Some of them are like walking dictionary for Portal games.

That is a good question. Maybe she does not get destroyed because she is connected to the ASHPD which is part of "test protocol". Or maybe since it is a potato battery which creates 1.1 voltz it causes the disintegration field to become disrupted allowing for the potato to go through unscathed. Just an idea...

Wait, destroy? Thought it doesn't. But like HossDelgado says, it's probably because it's connected to the Portal Gun.
