If you have it on the PS3 or 360, yes you can, with splitscreen.

If you have it on the PC, no, unless you find a tutorial that requires a lot of tweaking to play it splitscreen.

Portal 2 supports split screen co-op, however you'll have to be on the same system looking a the same TV.

Other than that, there's no way to play Portal 2 with someone who doesn't have it.

On a gaming console like PS3 or Xbox yes if you have an extra controller but not on PC

Two copies of Portal 2 are needed for the PC. The other consoles, no. If you know how to use the console on the PC you can hack it so it can do split-screen.
